So my great mutton snapper fishing trip was a bust. As it turns out, the guys who were going to show me how to catch mutton snapper hardly knew how to catch yellowtail much less mutton snapper. So we ended up going out to my yellowtail “drop”.

Because they told me that we were going to be bottom fishing, I only took a bottom-fishing reel. Once I figured out what they were trying to do, I borrowed a Penn Slammer 560, re-rigged with 20#test fluorocarbon leader, found the smallest hook in the boat and immediately starting catching yellowtail. So the other two guys rigged up the same way and we ended up with a decent night. We caught about 15 yellowtail and mostly good sized. I’m not sure what I was expecting but regardless, it was a fun evening.

Our refrigerator in The Fun House just stopped working. I have the solid red light on the “recall board”. After some instruction, I checked for “yellow stain” on the “column”. Nothing there so the tech suspects simply a bad “recall board”. He has another and will install it at 3:00pm today. IF that is the problem, we are good to go. If something else caused the board to “trip”, we’ve still got a problem but this seems to be the next right step. We’ll see what we see.

A return trip to my new urologist today yielded EXCELLENT results to my PSA test from last month. Less than 0.1 was the result and it just don’t get any better for a former cancer patient. Very good news.

Otherwise, life is settling in here for the summer days. Hot, humid and beautiful! I really love it here. God is Good all the time.
